SecureWorks' CTO to Participate on Panel at Georgia Institute of Technology’s Security Summit

Atlanta, October 14, 2008 - Jon Ramsey, chief technology officer for SecureWorks, will serve as a panelist at Georgia Tech Information Security Center's (GTISC) upcoming Security Summit on Wednesday, October 15th. Following a keynote by Lt. General Robert J. Elder Jr., Commander Eighth Air Force, Barksdale Air Force Base, the panelists will look ahead to discuss and debate threats and vulnerabilities that will emerge or become serious problems over the next few years. Thomas E. Noonan, formerly of Internet Security Systems, will serve as the panel moderator, and the other panelists will include Mischel Kwon of the US-Cert, Wenke Lee of GTISC, Morris Moore of Motorola, James Ramsome of CSPO, and Heath Thompson of IBM.

The 2008 GTISC Security Summit on Emerging Cyber Security Threats is the sixth security summit hosted at Georgia Tech since 2004. It has evolved into one of the most forward-looking cyber security events locally and nationally. The summit brings together more than 300 thought leaders from academia, government and the information security industry to discuss key cyber threats and explore possible solutions for addressing them.

In conjunction with this year's summit, the second annual GTISC Emerging Cyber Threats Report for 2009 will be issued. The Cyber Threats Report is a compilation of GTISC research and advance interviews with the Summit panelists who have explored the trends that will drive the threats and countermeasures in 2009 and beyond.

Ramsey has served on the GTISC Board since 2007 and prior to joining SecureWorks
worked for the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). Ramsey's duties as SecureWorks' CTO include overseeing the organization's research team, also known as the Counter Threat UnitSM (CTUSM). The CTU identifies and analyzes emerging threats and develops robust countermeasures to protect their clients' critical information assets. Additionally, Ramsey and the CTU frequently serve as expert resources for the media, publish technical security analyses and address emerging threats at security conferences nationally and globally.
