SecureWorks Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for Advisory Firm's Managed Security Services Provider Magic Quadrant for 1HO7

Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

Atlanta, GA, August 3, 2007 - SecureWorks, the largest managed information security services provider safeguarding 1,800 clients and more financial institutions than any other vendor, today announced that research and advisory firm, Gartner, Inc., has positioned SecureWorks in the Leaders quadrant in its Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) Magic Quadrant for the first half of 2007.  The Gartner Magic Quadrant is a graphical portrayal of vendor performance in a market segment, including categories for leaders, challengers, visionaries and niche players. Criteria by which the vendors are measured include a company’s completeness of vision and ability to execute.

According to Gartner, "Each of the service providers in the Leaders quadrant has significant 'mind share' among enterprises looking to buy an MSS from pure-play security vendors, and they generally receive positive reports on service and performance from Gartner clients. Vendors in the Leaders quadrant are typically appropriate options for enterprises requiring frequent interaction with the MSSP for analyst expertise and advice, portal-based correlation and workflow support, and flexible reporting options."

"We are excited to be placed into the Leaders quadrant of Gartner’s MSSP Magic Quadrant, and we will continue to work hard to provide outstanding security coupled with the highest level of client service," said Mike Cote, president and CEO of SecureWorks.  "SecureWorks is soley focused on information security, thus enabling us to devote all of our resources and expertise to the protection of our clients.  Our merger with LURHQ has enabled us to greatly expand our offerings and our presence in the enterprise market, while continuing to grow our business in the commercial sector."

"With this momentum, SecureWorks has launched an advanced correlation engine as part of our fully integrated client portal and security management platform," continued Cote.  "The correlation engine analyzes events from all service lines to identify defined patterns and to take specified actions to thwart malicious activity.  Unlike other vendors who are unable to compare firewall data with IPS data or server logs with host intrusion prevention information, SecureWorks is uniquely positioned to analyze all relevant information – including our own dynamic attacker database - to more proactively stop attacks than ever before. The engine can also be configured to detect complex patterns such as abnormal behavior for a given day of the week or time of day, as well as simply just number of occurrences. All rules are configured and edited on-the-fly by our expert team of analysts."
