CHICAGO, IL, August 23, 2005 - LURHQ, the leading provider of Managed Security Services for Security Professionals, today announced it will sponsor Digital Bond's research & development of intrusion prevention signatures designed to detect attacks that utilize the Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol (ICCP). ICCP is widely used by supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to exchange data between utility control centers.

"SCADA security is top-of-mind amongst our utility clients and we are constantly looking for new ways to help them keep these critical systems safe from cyber-attacks," said Steven Drew, Chief Operating Officer of LURHQ. "The addition of ICCP signatures to our monitoring infrastructure enables us to deliver unparalleled protection across the nation's leading power and water utilities that we serve."

"Utility enterprises have been clamoring for ICCP signatures, so we are very pleased that LURHQ has sponsored the development of an initial set of IDS rules for this important SCADA protocol. These rules will detect simple but devastating attacks that take advantage of inherent vulnerabilities in ICCP, said Dale Peterson, President and Chief Executive Engineer of Digital Bond. "LURHQ has been very helpful since the start of Digital Bond's SCADA intrusion detection project. Previously, they tested many of the early Modbus TCP and DNP3 signatures, and were one of the first Providers to put them into production".
