Michael R. Cote, President, Chairman and CEO

Mike Cote became president and CEO of SecureWorks in February of 2002. Under his leadership, the firm has grown to become one of the leading security services firms.  Prior to joining SecureWorks, Cote held executive positions with Talus Solutions, a pricing and revenue management software firm acquired by Manugistics in 2000. Cote joined Talus from MSI Solutions, a web application development and systems integration company where he was Chief Operating Officer. In addition to other technology executive roles, Cote's early career included international assignments with KPMG.  Cote's leadership style is punctuated by open communication, high integrity, and a client-centric philosophy. Cote is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of Business Executives for National Security. He is a graduate of Boston College with a double major in computer science and accounting.

Mike Vandiver brings more than 15 years of financial, accounting, merger, operations, legal and risk management experience to SecureWorks. As CFO of SecureWorks, Vandiver has used his experience with public and private companies ranging in revenues from $24 million to $4.5 billion to structure budgets, plan growth strategy and implement financial scalability that has put SecureWorks on the Inc. 500 and Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 lists. Prior to joining SecureWorks, Vandiver held senior executive positions at Digiquant and LHS Group, Inc. Vandiver is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelors degree in Economics from Brown University and a MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology. >> Back to top


Jon Ramsey, Chief Technology Officer

Jon Ramsey is an information security expert with policy-making responsibility at SecureWorks in Atlanta, GA. Ramsey has 10 years of hands-on experience at every level: system administrator, software engineer, analyst, security penetration specialist and senior engineer. Prior to joining SecureWorks, Ramsey worked for the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Siemens, and the University of Pittsburgh. Ramsey earned a Master's degree in software engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh. Steven Drew, Senior Vice President, Client Operations

Steven

Steven Drew brings a tremendous amount of security and network operations management expertise to his role as the SVP of Client Operations.  In this role, Steven is responsible for ensuring SecureWorks' expert analyst team and three Security Operations Centers operate at peak performance 24x7 to deliver superior client service.  Drew joined SecureWorks through the merger with LURHQ where he was the company's Chief Operating Officer and responsible for all aspects of service delivery including security operations, development and infrastructure.  During this time, Drew implemented the people, processes and technology necessary to scale operations to effectively analyze over one billion daily security events from across the client base.  Prior to LURHQ, Drew built and operated a leading telephone provider's network operations center and launched the company's ISP services.  Drew holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Clemson University and an MBA from Winthrop University.  In addition, he is a SANS GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst. >> Back to top


Corey Merchant, Vice President, Product Management

Corey Merchant is a security industry veteran who has been at SecureWorks for ten years. He is responsible for product management and guiding the SecureWorks overall services strategy. Merchant previously was responsible for all service delivery out of the Secure Operations Centers. Prior to joining SecureWorks, Merchant managed network and security technologies at an Internet Service Provider. He has worked as a security consultant providing customer service and security expertise and he has extensive experience with a wide variety of security technologies. He has a Master of Library and Information Sciences degree from the University of South Carolina and is a GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst. Kathy Jaques, Chief Marketing Officer

Kathy Jaques brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the software industry to her role as the Chief Marketing Officer. In this role, Jaques oversees product management, product marketing, direct marketing and public relations to support direct and indirect sales channels. Kathy's technical background, no-nonsense style and experience in product strategy, branding, positioning and execution of guerilla-marketing programs have accelerated SecureWorks' growth since her arrival. Jaques works closely with the executive team to identify new services, segments, and regions to capture the growing demand for managed security services. No newcomer to growing technology companies, Ms. Jaques has held executive marketing and product management positions at FYI Corporation, Air2Web, BMC Software and Candle Corporation during periods of rapid expansion. Tyler T. Winkler, Executive Vice President

Since joining SecureWorks in 2002, Winkler has built a highly effective sales team driving remarkable new client and revenue growth. His penchant for process, training and metrics has resulted in a knowledgeable and scalable organization that prioritizes a high level of client service from the beginning of the sales relationship.

Prior to joining SecureWorks, Winkler held multiple executive sales management positions with security-oriented companies after beginning his career in sales with ICARUS. While at ICARUS, Winkler launched the Latin American and European offices ultimately taking over as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing . Winkler was instrumental in the IPO and ultimately the acquisition of ICARUS by Aspen Technology in 2000. He has a business degree from Towson University in Baltimore, MD.

Jeff Browning, Senior Vice President of Engineering

Jeff Browning has over 20 years of engineering experience most recently at Air2Web where he served as the SVP of Engineering managing application and product development and implementation, quality assurance, and network operations. Prior to Air2Web, he served as Director of Development for MultiActive, which he joined when it acquired CognitTech Corporation. As a founder of CogniTech Corporation, he served as Vice President of Product Development, helping design and develop the Sharkware family of products. Jeff also led the development of several large-scale relational database initiatives at Stockholder Systems Incorporated (now CheckFree Corporation) and performed similar roles at BellSouth Corporation. He holds a master's degree in Business Information Systems from Georgia State University and a B.B.A in Finance from the University of Georgia. >> Back to top

Mr. Petersen has extensive experience in strategic consulting, compliance, technology integration and implementation, security architecture, and IT controls, and is the inventor on 3 patents pending. Bill Buchanan, Vice President, Internal Audit

Bill Buchanan joined SecureWorks as the VP of Internal Audit at the beginning of 2007 to develop, operate and manage the company's internal audit function. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors' Audit Committee, he also serves as the primary liaison between SecureWorks' management team and the regulators and external auditors. With ample experience leading the audit function for S1 Corporation and as a regulator with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the Office of Thrift Supervision, Buchanan is uniquely qualified to provide operational and regulatory guidance to the company as it continues to grow rapidly. Bill holds a BBA in Finance from Georgia State University and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Tony Hawk, Vice President of Human Resources

Tony Hawk brings extensive experience in Organizational and Team Development, Strategic Planning, Leadership Development and Human Resources Policy development as SecureWorks Vice President of Human Resources. Tony joined SecureWorks after spending 7 years at the Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics where he served as a senior leadership and organizational development consultant, designing and developing customized strategic plans and leadership and organizational development services for clients including Fortune 50 companies.

Prior to joining Soderquist, Tony was the Vice President of Corporate Relations for Resources For Living in Austin, Texas, an employee assistance organization serving Wal-Mart and other Fortune 500 companies. He served as Wal-Mart's home office senior employee assistance, work/life, and workplace violence consultant. Tony earned undergraduate and master’s degrees from Abilene Christian University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. >> Back to top


Jeff Rosenberg, Vice President and General Counsel

Jeff Rosenberg joined SecureWorks in 2007 as Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to joining SecureWorks, Jeff was Senior Counsel for First Data’s Prepaid Services division where he was lead counsel for several emerging payment technology divisions advising on issues including product development, privacy and PCI. Jeff also served as Senior Counsel for Mergers and Acquisitions at First Data from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2006, Jeff was General Counsel of Hagemeyer NA, a $1.5 billion supply chain outsourcing company.

Jeff spent eight years in private practice at the law firms of Dewey Ballantine and Hunton & Williams where he advised clients across a broad transactional spectrum including financings, joint ventures, technology transactions and M&A. Jeff holds a bachelors degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a law degree from Albany Law School.
