POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager IT PMO position will be responsible to drive all activities associated with the successful delivery of internal projects. This person will ensure that PMO best practices are established and adhered to for all projects, that all projects are complete on time, on budget with high level of client satisfaction. This position is responsible to establish and refine metrics and scorecard reporting at the project and executive levels. This person will have direct responsibility for overseeing project resource forecasting and utilization analysis. This position will be responsible for personnel management and leadership of a small team of project managers, including hiring, performance management and ongoing staff development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Functions as Project manager for internal IT projects.
- Maintains a master list of projects and facilitates weekly *dashboard* reporting and analysis to senior leadership.
- Chairs weekly internal change management calls and project steering committee calls, prepares materials and sends out meeting notes.
- Interacts closely with Engineering PMO Office to collect necessary data across groups.
- Oversees implantation of processes and tools to increase project management effectiveness.
- Works with senior managers to provide strategic and tactical advice on program / project planning and execution.
- Participates in business case and proposal development to ensure integration between the project effort and other functional areas.
- Assists in the development of project / program plans, budgets, and resources requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- PMO implementation and project analysis experience required.
- PM vendor and tool experience (MSFT Project, Project Server)
- Advanced skills in finance, leadership, communications and conflict resolution.
- Solid understanding of industry best practices and standards of Project Management Methodologies including PMBOK (Project Management Book of Knowledge), Prince2 (Projects in Controlled Environments) and Agile.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse and geographically dispersed team
- Ability to travel 20% of the time.
- Ability to work under existing federally-established privacy and security guidelines and regulations
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years direct experience in Project Management field.
- PMP Certified
- Experience working under established Security Compliance guidelines.
